Our Annual Pet Blessing, hosted by our Adult Faith Formation group, took place under rain threatening skies on Sunday, October 27, in front of the Makai House at the back of the church property. Thirty humans attended with their pets, all dogs – large and small, old and young, pure breeds and not - and one lone kitty. (Reminder for next year: all pets are welcome) Father Mike began with a general prayer, including special intentions for two pets there afflicted with cancer. He then made his way around the crowd, asked for the pet’s name and blessed each one with holy water. Mostly NOT well received, but oh so entertaining for the humans. Treats were enjoyed by all, both animals and humans. After much visiting and camaraderie among the attendees, everyone made their way home. And then…..the RAINS CAME! A true blessing for us
