Religious Education Faith Formation Program (K to 8th Grade) 2024-2025
We have learned about the greatest commandment of all, but do you remember the 10 Commandments? These rules were given by God to Moses as a guide to love God and have a right relationship with Him. God made us and He loves us. So the first three Commandments show us how to love Him back through faith, hope, love, and worship of God; reverence for holy things; prayer. Going to church on Sundays and holy days of obligation. The fourth Commandment is to show love to our parents. Parents love and care for their children just like Mary and Josephcared for Jesus. Let us love, respect, and obey our parents. The fifth through tenth Commandments guide us on how to live with and love one another. Respect for others, safeguarding property, having good thoughts, good words, and good deeds. Following these rules will help us to be happy as well as make others happy. Important reminders for parents and students of religious education:
Practice makes perfect – practice your prayers – Sign of the Cross, Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Act of Contrition, and Angel of God.
Mass Attendance – please fill out the Mass attendance slip and drop them off in the box located at the entrance of the church.
Class attendance is important, if you will be missing class please email Ms. Vanessa at religiousedhtc@gmail.
As a reminder, our monthly Rosary will be in the Makai Chapel at 3:50 p.m.
Feast of the Baptism of the Lord
As the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus in the form of a dove, a voice came from heaven announcing, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
In our Catholic church, the Baptism of the Lord by John the Baptist marks the end of the Christmas season. This event makes known to us that Jesus is the Son of God and when he began of his public ministry.
The Baptism of the Lord confirms that:
1. We are all called to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. 2. We are all called to be members of God’s family. 3. We are called to spread the Good News (Gospel) of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Water represents life. Water gives and sustains life. It washes away dirt and stains. It refreshes and makes all living things grow.
